International Cultural
Exchange Center, which is subordinate to Cultural
Office of Jilin Province, is a comprehensive institution for international
cultural exchanges.
The main businesses of the center are to
organize and handle Chinese and foreign exhibitions, performances and art
competitions and organize international congresses, international academic
exchanges, study visits and other international cultural activities; organize
and handle exhibitions and performances of cultural art groups and individuals;
receive overseas art groups or individuals to hold cultural and art activities
in China; shoot, dub, cooperate to produce and release TV plays and movies,
exhibits and cultural artifacts at home and abroad; publish books and
periodicals and magazines and offer internet information; design, produce,
agent and publish advertisements and devise corporate images and significant
art activities of the enterprises; provide information consultant, personnel
training and other services; act as an agency to evaluate cultural exchange
activities abroad and at home.
Since it was founded, the center has
undertaken many external cultural exchange programs of Ministry of Culture and
our province and received the art troupes from France, Russia, Singapore,
Macao, Japan, North Korea, Republic of Korea and Cyprus, etc. to give the
cultural exchange performances in our province, such as the exchange programs
of China-France Culture Year including the solo piano concert of David Kadus
and the stage play of Harlequin in China, the operas of The Story of
the Stone, The Butterfly Lovers and The Flower Girl by North
Korea Xuehai Opera, Swan Lake by Russian State Ballet, American Dance
Festival by Artifact Dance Project, Magic Party by Pyongyang Magic
Group of North Korea, opera of Legend of Chun Hyang by Seoul Opera
Troupe of Korea, Singing the Chinese Red Songs by Red Flag Song and
Dance Troupe of Russian Far-East, the New Year''''s Concert of American Festival
Orchestra and the red classical ballet of The Red Detachment of Women by
The National Ballet of China, the musical of Jasmine by Song and Dance
Ensemble of the Political Department of the Air Force and large Shanxi Zarzuela
of Emancipation and other domestic and overseas large performance
projects.
Meanwhile, in order to propel the
excellent cultural products of our province to go onto the world stages, a
variety of international cultural exchange activities have been launched and
the center has operated the performance tours to the United Kingdom, France,
Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Russia,
Kazakhstan, Japan, Thailand, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Turkey, Morocco and
Australia, etc.
The large evening parties of Dragon
Fist, Soul of the Great Wall, Shaolin Wushu, Mulan Legend
and Olympic Night created and rehearsed by the center with rich local
characteristics of Jilin Province and profound Chinese traditional cultural
connotations have been performed in many countries of Europe and America and
the Soul of the Great Wall was rated as the “Excellent Exported Cultural
Service Project” by Ministry of Culture and was commended by Ministry of
Culture and Provincial Propaganda Department repeatedly. Jilin Province
International Cultural Exchange center has become the leader for exploiting
domestic and overseas performing markets.
